On days my brain refuses to hum.
It stares into space
An unfeeling unmoving organ
How does it evoke such feelings
When it has none.
When I want to remember
It plays hide-n-seek
Never giving up its position
Never failing.
People blame the heart
For its heartless acts
But I say it’s the brain
Who is the villian-est of them all.
Sulky, sullen, it sits in its watery throne
Protected by the hard bones
It whirrs but
It keeps mum.
Brain, you are mean.
